Photos are a great way to capture memories, and with a smartphone, they’re easy to take and easy to access. But what do you do when your photo album starts to overflow with images? Here are a few tips for organizing family photos from your smartphone and keeping those family memories safe.

Start by creating folders on your phone for different events or occasions. You could have folders for holidays, birthdays, vacations, and everyday moments. Within those folders, create subfolders for each year. This will make it easy to find photos from a specific event or time period.

If you want to be really organized, add keywords to your photos’ filenames. This will help you find them later, even if you don’t have the exact date or location handy. For example, you could name a photo “holiday-thanksgiving-2017” instead of just “holiday-2017.”

To create a photo album on your phone, go to your photo album and tap the + sign at the top-right corner of the screen. Then, select Album and type a name for your album. Tap Add and select the photos you want to add. You can also add videos to your album.

Ask one of your children or grandchildren to help with this. Once they get you started, you’ll be able to do it without them in no time.

Another way to keep your photos organized is by using apps like Google Photos or iCloud Photo Library. These apps automatically upload your photos to the cloud, where they can be accessed from any device. You can then create albums and arrange them however you want. Plus, both apps offer facial recognition and object identification features, which make finding specific photos even easier.

Add your family history, and you will have a legacy book for future generations to treasure. No matter how you choose to organize your family photos, the most important thing is to start somewhere. The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll have a beautiful memory book to cherish for years to come.
